Weekend Madness

Starting off Bright & Early.
No, those aren't their names...
So I told you about that weekend shoot for that crazy music video. It was tons of fun, and here I am posting about it! Zesta was very kind to have dropped in some drinks (one of the perks of being an Invogued Influencer!) and boy, am I glad they did!

We were in the SCORCHING HOT SUN, there was a lot of sweat, a lot of heat and good thing for us, a lot of Zesta to keep our spirits up.

I was running between rehearsals and shoot and I'm surprised to find that although I'm TOTALLY MENTALLY STRESSED-OUT right now, my body isn't having a breakdown on me. (Thank heavens!) Which is why I've decided to take a little break from work right now and upload my crazy weekend experience!

We started off early in the morning, but that didn't stop the sun from deciding to shine as brightly as it could. It felt like mid-day sun at 9am. It even drizzled a little, but nothing was going to dampen our spirits! In case you were wondering, what music video is this? It's a National Day tribute, but at the same time a parody of all that has happened in the past year. Well, true love is always expressed through mockery. It's an independent project by SINdie, with Jeremy Sing leading the team as director/producer/choreographer/syncronized swimming instructer/and everything else over and in between! But what a great effort!
Rehearsing the syncronised swimming with only a small portion of the entire cast.

Mint and a politician!
Fellow maids, Sharina, Kelly & Wenxin
Some more maids, Jolene and Evon cooling off by the pool with a cold drink in hand.
Sharina has a beautiful smile! FINALLY managed to catch her without her covering her face!

I love this photo, this girl is so cute.
There were lots of familiar faces, with Evon Chua Campus Superstar who plays one of my fellow maids, and Chua Enlai playing the lead character, an NSboy. Lots of bloggers like Yongwei, Mint Leong, and HPility. Lots of politicians, and like I said before, "rad bikinies" and even... a bear. But I shan't reveal too much for fear of giving out spoilers.
I play two roles in this video. Try spotting me when you watch it!

Well, that was that. And then I raced off for my rehearsal at The Esplanade. Not before grabbing a can of my favourite energy booster.
Let's Do More!

Whazzup? NEW LOCATION!!!

We decided to get a little more adventurous with our Whazzup episodes and thus, made our way to the Singapore Riding Centre. We got to see horses grazing and having their fun during their rest time. Hopefully, we'll be able to catch some horses in the shots in the future.

In the meantime, enjoy!

Wow, What A Day!

Last night, I did something VERY VERY wrong. I put off some work that I was supposed to do... and left it for today. Worst thing is that I had rehearsals all day and was completely unable to settle it until... NOW. Because I've been out 'til now. And when I realized that the day was nearly over, it was already waaaay past working hours and..... am I rambling again?
Anyways, looks like I've certainly been keeping myself busy. TGFZ- No prizes for guessing what that means! -esta

Now for updates of the week!
  • Performance tomorrow 25th June at a God-forsaken hour (for a Saturday) at 9.15AM! East Coast Angsana Green. C'mon along if you want to learn what harm smoking does to you!
  • I'll be taking part in a music video on life in Singapore! The shoot happens over the weekend, and will be released in time for National Day. It's a really fun video (based on what I've heard from the director so far) so I'm looking forward to it!
There will be a huge cast with lots of familiar faces, "rad bikiniees", NSmen and more to look out for! Don't worry. I'll put up a post on it soon! Keep your eyes peeled!

In the meantime, do check out this poster.
So, so long suckers, g'night. Love ya'll xoxoxxxzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Starglace

I was at the photoshoot for Starglace, and I must say, the clothes are gorgeous! Y'know how sometimes when you shop online you're afraid that the clothes look good in the photos but when they arrive in the mail, the quality really sucks?

DEFINITELY NOT the case here!

Because I got the chance to try on most of their collection, I can say for a fact that the quality and fitting of their outfits are really good!

And the designs are gorgeous... Time for some shopping!!!

P.S: Stick around for more updates on their latest collection!

INVOGUED!

Hello One and All,

I'm INVOGUED! Invoked, but also In-Vogue (meaning I'm in fashion la!!) Haha so happy. I'm in fashion k, don't play play.

I'm very happy to be chosen as one of Zesta's Invogued Influencers. What's that?

"Presented by Zesta, Invogued is a new editorial initiative from Singapore’s leading news and entertainment web portal, omy.sg.
The content from Invogued is anchored by six carefully selected “Zesta Influencers”, each chosen based on their unique personality and passion in their respective lifestyle fields."

I've got a UNIQUE PERSONALITY!!! And PASSION!  *Proud* Wait 'til you see who else is in the list! It's so exciting to be categorized with these people!

"Follow Inch Chua, Estelle Kiora, Soh Ee Shaun, Joanne-Marie Sim, Mark Teo and Eric Lim on their editorial journey to uncover what’s cool and hip in Singapore as they bring you to the latest party or launches in town.
Be inspired, be invoked, be Invogued!"

Don't forget to LIKE the page! They have lots of contests, invites, and of course, updates on all the latest happenings in town! Not to mention, posts and reviews by yours truly.

See you there!

To Be or Not To Be...

That is... ok, I'll spare you the gory details.

Anyways, I was recently offered a role as ensemble cast in a star-studded musical drama series ala Glee. I shall not mention which one, but it's a regional production, so they've got some REAL stars from all over the world like UK, Phillipines, etc.

I dropped by to watch one of their rehearsals and it looked so fun. Lots of singing and dancing. I thought to myself, I could use some daily dance class. I was excited, exhilirated almost (yes, dance gets me that way), but then I saw the schedule, and my heart dropped.

7am - 7pm, 6 days a week. If I took this job on, there is no way I'd be able to do anything else. This means income = $0 + The amount they were offering me.

Which brings me to The Big Question.

To BE or NOT To BE.

hahaha no la! Anyway, that isn't even a question. (Can't you see? I ended it with a full-stop!)

Well, guess it just wasn't meant to be. Either way, I wish all the best to all cast and crew! Rock on, people! Hope things will work out next time!

DISCOVERY! 5 Ways to Stay Awake at Work.

I've been having sleepless nights of late. I don't know why. And y'know the worst thing about sleepless nights are that you always have to pay for it the next day. Especially when you're at work and you can't hit the sack. Then you're stuck there for the next 8hrs trying, with all your might, to keep your eyes open.

There are many ways to keep your peepers open. Or to sneak in a nap or two while pretending that you're awake.

1. Open-Eyed Spectacles
These spectacles can conveniently be purchased at any toy shop, and placed in your desk drawer in case of situations like this. You can then whip it out and put it on. Works if your working environment doesn't require much interaction with colleagues and bosses. Doesn't work if you snore.

2. Toothpicks
May be potentially dangerous. Works if you can sleep with your eyes open.

3. Clothes Pegs
Looks painful. Works if you have a high threshold for pain. Also works if you have a low pain threshold. The pain will prove effective in keeping you awake.

4. Index Finger and Thumb
Effective if your work does not involve the use of your hands. In this case, this guy kicks ball. So it probably works for him.

5. Make-Up
Create the delusion of open eyes by drawing on your eyelids. Works if you have big eyes and defined eyelids, and if you have the energy to go through the entire make-up process...

And just when I thought all hope was lost... a work friend, Dini, pops up with THIS!
Zesta, a drink 'with natural Guarana boost'. What's Guarana?

Well, Guarana (pronounced gwa-ra-NAH) is a creeping shrub native to Venezuela and northern Brazil in the Amazon rain forest. The fruit are small, bright-red, and contains black seeds.

Guarana seeds are rich in caffeine and contain up to 4-8% caffeine, more than coffee beans, which contain approximately 1–2.5% caffeine. The seeds are also rich in tannins and xanthine alkaloids theophylline and theobromine.

Guarana is reputed to be a stimulant and increase mental alertness, fight fatigue, and increase stamina and physical endurance.

I looked it up online and their ad says "Last to leave the party, first at work."

Hm. I could use this.

Stoning of dog: This is RIDICULOUS

Tel Aviv, June 19 (ANI): A Jewish court has reportedly pronounced a death sentence by stoning for a dog because they believed it was the reincarnation of a secular lawyer who they had cursed for insulting jews.
The rabbinical court reportedly passed the sentence after the large dog wandered into a court in Mea Shearim neighbourhood of Jerusalem and frightened the judges.
When the dog refused to leave, one of the judges allegedly declared the lawyer's spirit must have moved into the dog as punishment, and sentenced it to death by stoning - at the hands of local children, The Daily Mail reports.
'It was ordered... as an appropriate way to "get back at" the spirit which entered the poor dog.' A court manager told the Israeli daily Yediot Aharanot.
The dog managed to escape, but an animal rights organisation, Let Animals Live, lodged a police complaint against the head of the court. (ANI)

Poor dog. Lucky he managed to escape.

The Perfect Date

Who needs a man when there's Pizza!?!?

I think I must have been a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle in my past life because I ABSOLOOOOOT-LY Love Pizza. Having tried pizza from nearly everywhere I must say that Domino's definitely sets a benchmark. What with their wonderful, friendly service, cute delivery guys, and *drumroll* 30-minute delivery time, who can ask for more? Not to mention their super duper yummy, freshly-baked pizza, and oh, have I told you about their Chocolate Lava Cake yet? Don't get me started, I can go on forever.

AND their 30-minute delivery guarantee is no gimmick! They really DO deliver in 30 minutes! (I time them. Because when I want pizza, I want it NOW!) Don't ask me how they do it! They must have a soothsayer, sooth-saying all the orders beforehand or something.

So anyways, I recieved a parcel and it was a Domino's / X-men First Class goodie bag! Inside, there was an exclusive limited edition X-men drinking glass and a Domino's folder.

Exclusive Limited Edition Drinking Glass
*This is where half of my post disappeared!!!*

Anyways, I flip open the folder excitedly to find Two Platinum Movie Suites Tickets! AND Two Free Value Meal 1 Vouchers at Domino's! How awesome is that! For those of you who live in a hole and have never ordered Domino's before, let me tell you you're missing out BIG-TIME.

Serving customers since 1960, Domino's places great emphasis on delivering high quality items, just like their all new Prawn Sensation Pizza! Baked on the new and improved garlic flavoured crust and herb-infused sauce, this First Class Pizza is topped with the freshest gourmet ingredients including succulent prawns marinated in Italian herbs and spices, imported Belgian spinach and juicy cherry tomatoes!

On top of that, their Value Meal 1 includes a pizza, 4pc Chicken Wings (go for the golden-roasted drummets), onion rings, and either twistybread / breadstix / cinnastix. I opted for twistedbread. I love that. AND! Don't forget to get the dessert. Don't get me started on how good the Chocolate Lava Cake is. I'm not even a chocolate fan, but that cake is sooooooooooooooooo goooooooooooooooooooood.

I'm not going to talk much about the movie as I believe it's been out pretty long and most of you would have caught it already. BUT I do want to talk about The Movie Experience!

I was rushing for a meeting and about to be late for the show and y'know those elevators at The Cathay are always so blinking crowded. I feel like I'm queueing up to get into the MRT. So I give up, and we decide to take the escalators instead. When we got to the top, there was a queue TOO! Well, SO LONG SUCKERS! WE DON'T HAVE TO QUEUE. WE'VE GOT PLATINUM SUITE TICKETS! WHOO-HOO!

And off we go on our First Class journey. Reclining chairs, Quilts (not blankets), Remarkable Service, and Extra Yummy Caramel Almond Popcorn.

In fact, it was so comfy that our friend, Chun, fell asleep and, to my horror, started snoring. I had to wake him up.

*** I'm so sad that my draft got lost in cyberspace. I don't know what happened but that version was so much better. :( ***

Anyways, thank you Domino's! Thanks to you, I now know that I'm Mutant, and Proud.

Skirt Too Small

I passed by this clothes shop today and was looking at these skirts and culottes that were on display. The skirts were really tiny but considering some of them were actually skorts, it could be pretty convenient to wear.

Then walks by this tall girl and just as she passes me, she almost shouts out loud. "Who could wear such TINY skirts?!"

... ... I thought "short people la, duh..."

But it was kinda funny anyway. Like I'm so short until she can't even see me, thus forgot all about what mommy said about being tactful.

Looks like I'm getting my just returns for being so tactless all the time!

Some Updates

The June hols are here! It's a pretty exciting (but stressful) month, as I'm in rehearsals for a theatre production. Having done most of my acting on film, stage performances are a little out of my comfort zone. My physicality always seems to get in the way and I never have a loud enough voice. Which is why I'm... jittery.
Well, good thing I've got a very dedicated director who really pushes me. I hope it turns out well!

I've also been working at my hosting skills. I really want to be able to emcee a live show WELL, and I'm lucky to have been given opportunities to keep learning and work with some really great emcees. I guess the thing about emceeing is that you must really talk alot. And you must say the right things! (The latter being a bit tough for me because I ALWAYS SAY THE WRONG THINGS at THE WRONG TIME) But I've been practising. Sounds silly, but I talk to myself while riding to prep for a show.
Power Rangers Show at Sembawang Shopping Centre, 11th June.
If you're a die-hard fan of the Power Rangers (like the hordes of people who were there yesterday), or a fan of ME (like none of those yesterday), you can catch us, once again, at Bukit Panjang Plaza on the 18th of June. Showtimes are 1pm, 4pm and 7pm!
And last but not least, my latest episode of WHAZZUP!

$650 For A Helmet!!!

I spent $650 for a Helmet.

I cannot believe this. $650! That's more than enough to buy an air-ticket to Tokyo!

But oh well, it was a birthday present, and look at how happy he is.

Ooh. Mid-Years. Exciting.

Well, well, whaddya know. It's June! Time for seething hot days, sunburns, school kids on holiday and The Great Singapore Sale!!! Yipppeeeee!

I always tell myself, "never buy anything during the Great Singapore Sale because in July, the prices will drop even more!"

But that's what I tell myself.

Anyways, mid-years are always a good time to rejuvenate, reinvent, get a hold of oneself, and... to wake up, smell the roses and realize that 5 months have whizzed past. And to start doing things! Because if you don't start now........ then next year will be here.

So here are my resolutions for the next half of the year(in no particular order):
  • Experience sky-diving.
  • Go mountain and rock climbing.
  • Go look at strange creatures, big and small.
  • Jump off a great height.
  • Visit Mars.
Don't laugh at my resolutions. (To be continued...)
